Antonio Banderas played one of the main characters in the adventure fantasy «Beyond the Edge» - the co-project of KINODANZ company (producers – Evgeniy Melentyev and Victor Denisyuk) and AMBI Media Group (producers – Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi).
Shootings of the Italian part with Banderas took place in Rome in the beginning of December. The film director is Aleksandr Boguslavskiy, the operator - Vyacheslav Lisnevskiy. The film will be released on September 28, 2017.
«Beyond the Edge» is the adventure story about one of the world’s top thieves Michael who organizes a team of people with supernatural powers to rob a casino bank. However, things did not go according to the plan, and the characters found themselves in a mortal danger. To save them, Michael will have to act beyond the edge of our reality - in the mysterious world of the subconscious, where the superpowers of his friends stem from.
The main character – a lone fraudster named Michael – was played by Milos Bikovich. "Paranormal" heroes of his team were played by Lubov Aksenova, Evgeniy Stychkin, Yuri Chursin and Aristarch Venes.
Antonio Banderas’ character is Gordon - master of fraud who is much more powerful than Michael. Gordon keeps a close eye on every step of Michael and his team and it seems that it depends on Gordon whether the heroes succeed in their plans, or face a crushing defeat. As Antonio said, he was fascinated by the story and the world of the movie, as well by his role: the mysterious and ambiguous character, a cool handed master of fraud, involving other characters in trouble. And his true motives, viewers will learn only in the end of the film.
«Beyond the Edge» is an unusual project for the Russian cinema, as far as it will be optimized for domestic and international distrubution. Shootings took place in Russia and abroad: in the film viewers will see picturesque places of Georgia, a casino in the gambling zone in Azov-City, the Black Sea coast, as well as Rome's streets, where the scenes with Antonio Banderas were filmed.
In addition to the exciting adventure story, "Beyond the Edge" will surprise viewers by the original fantastic world. The whole space of the common subconscious of humanity was invented with its "architecture" and rules. The script was written by Michael Zubko together with the «Kinodanz» creative team (Alexander Boguslavsky, Dmitry Zhigalov, Aleksey Sluschev).
Antonio Banderas’ shootings in "Beyond the Edge" is the first case of participation of such a star in the russian film. AMBI Media Group and production company Ares Film (Italy) are foreign co-producers of the movie. KINODANZ and AMBI entered into strategic agreement about co-production of seven feature films with participation of Hollywood actors of “A” class. AMBI Distribution, AMBI Group’s sales house, will be responsible for international sales.
AMBI Media Group is a fast-growing international company which plans to realize from 8 up to 10 films per year, including its own and exterior projects.
